Playing the Waiting Game

And now we wait. I have made no progress since last week. This is not a bad thing, but I had gotten my hopes up that Andrew would be here a little sooner than expected. I hear all first time moms feel this way, so I guess I'm no different. The baby will come when he and God are ready!

Our glider came in today, and it's beautiful!

Baby Shower!

I had so much fun at my baby shower! Not only was it great to see all my wonderful friends, but Andrew got some really cool stuff! Thanks to Amy Vance and my sister Allison for all their hard work. Here's just a few pics of some of the gifts we received.

Allison made the cute diaper cake loaded down with lots of handy baby stuff. Her friend Kelly makes these clay cake toppers and made one of me pregnant. She even made a replica of my Coach bag! Notice little Andrew hanging out on layer #2 with Mr. Rubber Ducky:)

My gift from the Mississippi Girls - the toy chest. This is what we get as a baby gift for each other. It looks beautiful in the room!

Check out this awesome giraffe bench from Scott's childhood friend, Shannon Gaw. What a cool gift!

One of Amy's gifts...an "Andrew train"! Can't wait for him to get to play with it.

I go back to the doctor in the morning, so here's hoping for more dilation!!!

A Very Happy Wednesday!

I went in for my weekly doctor's visit this morning and got some really good news! All still looks great. I am 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced! This could mean nothing and could remain this way for another month. The doctor did not want to make any promises, but all I heard was "Yay! You're going to have this baby early!" :) I'm really trying not to get my hopes up, but this news really makes me happy! Andrew is in the perfect position - head down and ready to make his debut! Right before I left the room, the doctor told me to hold out for 1 week and 2 days until I'm 37 weeks, which is technically full term. I guess I'll try:) Evidently, I'm having contractions, too and didn't even know it! The doctor explained to me what they feel like, so now I know what to feel for. I think I even noticed a few today!

Below is my latest preggo picture - 35 weeks.

The Countdown Has Begun...

Welcome to our blog! You can thank little Andrew for bringing us into the blogging world:) We only have about 5 1/2 weeks to go, and we are very excited! We continue to watch all our friends give birth to their special little ones and can't wait to be in their shoes. The doctor says that everything looks great. Even though I have complained of all the things that go along with being pregnant, we have been very blessed with a healthy pregnancy.

Check out the pictures below for our latest obsession - Andrew's nursery! Scott and his dad did an awesome job on the wall paneling and crown molding. Thanks, McKinley men! A huge thanks to Scott's parents and my parents for the crib, bedding, and dresser. My mom gets all the credit for her decorating skills and helping to bring the room together. We know the baby is going to love everything! We just ordered the glider today, and we're hoping it gets here before Andrew does. We may have procrastinated a tiny bit on that one:) We've still got a few things left to do in the room, but here it is so far!

Thanks for checking on us!
